One Day Workshop

Join the party. In this full day workshop, we will be using my collection of Baked Texture embossing powders from Emerald Creek to create textured and dimensional mixed media art blocks. Start by learning the properties of embossing powders and reviewing the traditional uses of EP. Then the real fun begins. We shift gears to focus on the ways Baked Texture is unique and experiment with mixed media applications. Examples include alternative adhesives, half baking, faux encaustics, layering and custom blending. We will use paint, ink, stencils, stamps, and of course Baked Texture to create a series of blocks that can be hung on the wall or stand on their own.

Student supply list:

• Paint brushes (1/2 and 1 inch cheap bristle brushes work well)
• Water container and paint palette
• Acrylic paint
• White Gesso
• Matte Medium
• Glue Stick
• Dye Ink Pads
• Embossing Pad
• Heat Gun
• Black and White fine tip journaling pens and any other of your favorite mark makers (pens, pencils, markers , etc)

I will have stencils and unmounted background stamps to share but feel free to bring your favorites.
