Making connections-Riveting II step in Talismans
Saturday 22 and/or Sunday 23 April, 2017
Attendees have the option to attend either day or both days
Combine layers of metal sheet, found objects and paper to create layers of negative and positive space to complete an unusual wearable charms, Talismans and pendants. Focus on cold joining techniques such as riveting traditional, nut and screw, bundled objects such as a small stack of paper.
Also, learn to add height and dimension by incorporating a technique using tubing which creates a hollow form. Learn clean up and finish work.
Attach to a charm bracelet or create a pendant. Multiple pieces will be finished in class.
Use of jewelers saw will be helpful.
Kit fee Includes – bronze sheet metal, tubing, screws, nuts, 16 gauge wire, transparent paper, jumprings
Please bring – jewelers saw, size 03 blades, (or tin snips) wire snips, chain nose and needle nose pliers, ball peen hammer, anvil.
Optional- drill, flat metal files, photographs, transparencies, personal objects
I will provide- liver of sulfur, images, drills, bits, files for use.
